In the Dojang

Dojang is a term used in Korean martial arts that refers to a training hall. It is considered the formal gathering place for students of a martial art to conduct training and examinations. The word dojang if formed from the word 'Do' meaning 'the way' or 'art' and Jang which means 'place'; so Dojang is the place where one practices the path of the martial art.

In the Leatherhead CKD dojang we teach and learn the skills and disciplines of Choi Kwang Do and all students and instructors follow the same dojang etiquette. It's common place in the Choi Kwang Do Dojang to use Korean to address pupils.
